The shooting of Tom Cruise’s new action film “Mission: Impossible 7” turned out to be an impossible mission due to the corona pandemic. For the first time, the shoot came to a sudden stop in spring because of the first corona wave. When things could finally go on, a motorcycle accident occurred on set in August, which started a large fire. Again, filming was suspended for a while, even if no one was injured. And the set remained empty in mid-October after the British media reported that up to twelve members of the film crew were infected. Most recently, Tom Cruise was named honorary naval aviator. He is now officially allowed to wear the “Wings of Gold” of the naval pilots. Only 34 other people had previously received this honor, reported the US magazine “People” in mid-October. The reason for the award was given by the military: “In the history of film there is no more iconic pilot film than Paramount Pictures’ ‘Top Gun’, released in 1986.” In it, Cruise did many of the action scenes himself instead of leaving the job to a stuntman. He’s similar with “Mission Impossible”.
