One who shouldn’t be particularly happy about Trump’s electoral defeat is Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu thanks his close ally for the friendship he has shown Israel and Netanyahu personally and “for the recognition of Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, for the determined stance towards Iran, for the historic peace agreements”. Trump has brought relations between Israel and the US to an unprecedented high.

The morning after Joe Biden’s election victory was announced, not all votes have been counted. Here is a brief overview of the countries in which a final result is not yet available:

Pennsylvania: Biden leads with 0.55 percent, 98 percent of the votes have now been counted
Nevada: Biden is 2 percent of the vote ahead of Trump with 95 percent of the votes
Georgia: Biden leads with just 0.18 percent of the vote, with more than 98 percent of the vote counted
North Carolina goes to Trump, the president leads after 98 percent of the votes counted with 1.4 percent
Arizona: Biden is very close to 0.56 percent ahead of Trump, 97 percent of the votes are now counted
Alaska: There are only 56 percent of the votes counted, but Trump is unassailable with 62.9 to 33 percent for Biden.
