Trump and other leading Republicans have so far failed to acknowledge a Democrat Biden victory. Trump criticizes election fraud and sues in several states. Trump has provided no evidence of his fraud allegations. The election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe found no irregularities in the US election. The head of the OSCE mission, Michael Georg Link, had described Trump’s manipulation allegations as “baseless”.

Biden was declared the winner on Saturday based on surveys and predictions from US media. The US president is not elected directly by the people, but by the electorate in the states. The winner needs at least 270 of the 538 voters. The states must certify the final results of the election by December 8th and report them to Washington. On December 14th, the electorate will vote.
