According to a “Time” report, the Justice Department has allowed armed security officers to be posted in front of polling stations that are still being counted. The officials there should “prevent potential federal crimes,” says an email from which the magazine quoted. The memo was sent to prosecutors in the affected states at 1 a.m. Wednesday night – a few hours after the polling stations closed.

Police break up demo in Portland after riot
Portland police broke up a “Count every vote” demonstration after some participants broke away from the demonstration and smashed downtown shop windows. The demo had previously teamed up with a protest against racism and police violence. The police describe the protest as a riot and intervene.
