In Brazil, the number of corona deaths has risen to over 180,000. The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported 672 new deaths. A total of 180,437 people have died as a result of a coronavirus infection since the beginning of the pandemic. After the USA, Brazil is the second country to exceed this threshold. Experts warned that the country is currently experiencing a second corona wave. Brazil’s right-wing extremist President Jair Bolsonaro, however, had declared the day before that his country had already reached the end of the corona pandemic. After Brazil recorded more than a thousand corona deaths per day from June to August, last month there were only around 300 deaths per day. In the meantime, the number has increased significantly again.
