In response to the drastic increase in infections with the corona virus in England, the government is introducing heavy fines for violating the quarantine rules. “We can best fight the virus if everyone abides by the rules and goes into self-isolation as soon as there is a risk that they could spread the coronavirus,” said Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The minimum fine for violations should be the equivalent of 1,100 euros, repeat offenders face fines of up to 11,000 euros.
