Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ foundation is providing an additional $ 70 million for global efforts to develop and distribute corona vaccines. “We have to ensure that everyone has equal access to tests, drugs and vaccines as soon as they are available – regardless of where in the world they live,” says the foundation’s co-director, Melinda Gates. Of the money, $ 50 million will flow into the Covax vaccine alliance, through which poorer countries will also have access to a vaccine, and $ 20 million into the international vaccine initiative CEPI.
