Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority released data for the most stolen vehicle models in the Denver Metro last year.

In 2020 the Chevrolet Silverado was the most stolen vehicle around Denver. There were 1,145 thefts of Silverados with the make years between 1999 and 2007.

The Honda Civic and Accord, along with Ford’s F-250, were all stolen more than 900 times as well.

The GMC Sierra, Ford F-150 and F-350, RAM 1500, Hyundai Sonata and Honda CR-V were among the top 10 most stolen vehicles, according to the data from Auto Theft Intelligence Coordination Center.

Coloradans Against Auto Theft has a list of tips to keep your car from being stolen. A few of those tips are:

• Never leave your vehicle running unattended
• Always park in well-lit areas
• Keep all valuables in the trunk or hidden from view
• Always keep your car doors locked when driving or parked.
