Seven people, including five children, were killed in a fire in a family home in western Russia. The 27-year-old owner of the wooden house came to hospital on Friday night with burns on his back, the authorities said. The bodies were discovered during the extinguishing work. The oldest child was therefore just eleven years old. According to local media, the victims are the mother with her children and the mother-in-law. It was initially unclear why the fire broke out in the small town of Jelnja near Smolensk.
