The CSU Bundestag member Michael Kuffer also pleaded in the paper for banning gunfire and fireworks this year. The North Rhine-Westphalian Interior Minister Herbert Reul also spoke out against firecrackers and rockets. “It was very quiet in our party strongholds on Halloween weekend,” said the CDU politician. “I wish that it will be the same again on New Year’s Eve.” The municipalities would have to decide.
