She wants to see US President Donald Trump in custody after his term in office is over, she says. That is not entirely unrealistic. While Donald Trump is still struggling to somehow keep his office as US President, many are already worrying about the time after he leaves the White House. Quite a few are likely to dream of holding the 74-year-old legally accountable as soon as his immunity no longer protects him from criminal prosecution. But not all of them speak out openly. Diane Kruger, on the other hand, does not mince words on this matter. The German actress, who has made a career in Hollywood with roles in films like “Troja” or “Inglourious Basterds”, makes no secret of the fact that she would like to see Trump behind bars.

“Let’s just hope that he is held responsible for his actions and the lies. I hope the judicial system will not rest until he is in jail,” Kruger wrote on her Instagram page. In the RTL interview, she adds again. “Anyone who betrayed the country like that belongs in prison,” she explains. And further: “He put so much money in his pockets. There have also been so many women who said he had raped them or at least touched them extremely.”

Trump threatens 30 proceedings

But not only Trump himself must be held accountable, believes Kruger, but also his relatives. “Well, I really hope there’s a lot to be found there,” said the actress. “Not only with him, but also in his family.” In fact, Trump is said to face around 30 proceedings after being voted out of office. The allegations range from sexual abuse to tax evasion and fraud to money laundering. However, it is not clear whether there will really be a wave of processes. Trump also threatened his challenger Hillary Clinton with prison at the time – without consequences. In order not to jeopardize internal peace in the USA any further, the new US President-elect Joe Biden could exercise leniency and pardon his predecessor Trump.
