Journalists experienced what is probably the strangest press conference yesterday in Philadelphia – and the reverberation can still be felt today. Shortly before the announcement of Joe Biden’s election victory, Trump’s lawyers, first and foremost the former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, called for a briefing at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping, a horticulturalist on the outskirts of the city – not to be confused with the Four Seasons Hotel there is in Philadelphia too. A mistake? Probably. So far, however, there is no explanation for the curious choice of location. Giuliani also seemed unmoved when he spoke in a parking lot in front of a makeshift lectern – by the way, in the immediate vicinity of a crematorium and the adult bookstore “Fantasy Island”.
