Israel has further eased corona restrictions in the country. Street shops were allowed to reopen – for the first time since a second lockdown was imposed in mid-September. In these small shops, which are accessible from the street, however, according to a decision by the so-called Corona Cabinet, no more than four customers are allowed to be at the same time. Shops in shopping centers must remain closed. The pandemic in Israel initially went smoothly, also because of the government’s strict course. After easing and a massive increase in the number of cases over the course of the summer, a second nationwide lockdown has been in effect since September 18. The number of new infections every day was reduced from more than 9,000 on September 30 to a few hundred.
