Because of his involvement in the Epstein scandal, Prince Andrew has to explain. A Finnish-Canadian entrepreneur has now been arrested on similar charges. Andrew had apparently visited him several times too. The Briton probably doesn’t play a role in the allegations. It is becoming increasingly difficult for Prince Andrew to distance himself from the abuse allegations he has faced for a year. His reputation has already been badly battered by his association with the convicted and now deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019). Another acquaintance of the prince, the fashion entrepreneur Peter Nygard, has now been arrested for numerous sexual assaults.

Nygard was born in Helsinki and lives mainly in the Bahamas. After the allegations became known, he withdrew from his company in February. The company then filed for bankruptcy in March. According to the New York State Attorney’s Office, he has been accused of extortion, human trafficking and abuse of minors, among other things. Even two of his sons accuse him of causing their own abuse. The allegations against Nygard are very reminiscent of the Epstein case. For example, 79-year-old Nygard is said to have used his influence during the 25 years at the helm of his clothing company to force underage girls to engage in sexual acts with him, with acquaintances and with each other. The investigators who arrested him in Winnipeg, Canada, spoke of “perverse acts” as reported by the “Toronto Sun”. The authorities are said to have requested his extradition to the USA. Nygard himself denied the allegations.

A number of US media now also report on connections between Nygard and the Duke of York. According to this, the 60-year-old Brit is said to have visited the fashion giant several times on his property in the Bahamas. The “New York Times” reports that he should have traveled at least once with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. According to the Toronto Sun, he visited Nygrad again four years after his divorce. So far, however, there is no evidence of criminal behavior by Andrews. Ironically, according to the Toronto Times, the US federal attorneys in New York who took over the case are precisely those who have already questioned Andrew about his involvement in the Epstein affair. In the case, the prince denies involvement, but does not cooperate with the investigators.

Meanwhile, in the Epstein case, Andrew is facing new difficulties: A British newspaper claims to have exposed Queen Elizabeth II’s son as a liar. The British Daily Mail recently reported that, contrary to what he said in an interview with the BBC about a year ago, when he was in New York in 2001, Andrew stayed at Epstein’s property. To this end, the newspaper cites reputable sources according to its own admission.

The alleged Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre claims to have been abused by Andrew at the age of 17 both at that time in New York and a few weeks earlier in London. According to the “Daily Mail”, this could at least fit in with time: Research and a look at the travel documents would have confirmed the assumption that Prince Andrew and his bodyguard stayed at the Epstein property on the second day of the USA trip. The newspaper also reports on Andrew’s schedule, in which he indicated a few hours as “private time”. In exactly those hours he is said to have met Giuffre and another girl. So far Andrew has denied all meetings with the alleged victim. But one picture shows: They met. In the photo, the prince put his arm around the then 17-year-old. In the BBC interview, however, Andrew vehemently denied having stayed at Epstein’s in New York. Meanwhile, at the weekend it became known that Andrew’s daughter Princess Beatrice allegedly couldn’t remember her father at her birthday party in the now legendary “Pizza Express” either. An insider confirmed that. Giuffre claims to have been abused by Andrew at that very time. According to the Daily Mail, he only has a manicure in his diary.
