The Russian drug manufacturer Pharmasyntez wants to manufacture a variant of the corona drug Remdesivir from the US company Gilead without its approval, reports the newspaper “Vedomosti”. Pharmasyntez has submitted a corresponding application to the Russian government, claiming the possibility of ignoring patent rights when it comes to national security. The newspaper writes that a request from Pharmasyntez to Gilaed to voluntarily grant the patent has not been answered.
