The lockdown restrictions in Israel will initially be extended until next Sunday. This was announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Wednesday night after a meeting of the so-called coronavirus cabinet. The first easing should be discussed on Thursday. This includes, among other things, the opening of small shops without public traffic and kindergartens. The easing should take place gradually. After the first lockdown in the spring, the government had been criticized for being too hasty and too comprehensive.
