Iran – 50000 Covid-19 dead and one million corona infections – today

Mike Tyson

In Iran, more than 50,000 deaths and over a million infections have been registered since the outbreak of the corona pandemic at the end of February. As the Ministry of Health announced, there were 321 deaths and 12,151 new infections within 24 hours. To stop the drastic increase in the number of cases in Iran, a strict lockdown has been imposed in the capital Tehran and other large and small cities over the past two weeks. Since then, the number of cases has not increased, but has not fallen significantly either. Nevertheless, the lockdown should be relaxed again from today. The scientific wing in the Corona crisis team is against it, but the political-economic wing is in favor, so as not to endanger the financial existence of the citizens. The country with a population of 82 million is one of the states that have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic.
