This is how the Army treats its Officers – Giant FU Email from HRC

USA-TRUMP

Check out the incredible email that HRC sent me last week about my promotion to Major……

A little background – I was selected for promotion to Major in January 2019, but thanks to GRAP I was referred to a Promotion Review Board. The PRB met – agreed that I didn’t do anything wrong – and recommended to the Secretary of the Army that I be retained on the promotion list. In August 2019 the Sec Army concurred with the PRB recommendation and sent my promotion packet to the White House for Presidental approval. My promotion packet sat at the White House for 16 MONTHS without any action. Once Trump left office the White House returned my packet to the Army. So if you are counting – they basically raked my ass over the coals and embarrassed the shit out of me with my various commands for 26 Months.

By that time the 2021 NDAA had passed, which made changes to the PRB process. The new post board screening process is called an “SSRB” and is somehow different than a PRB (roll eyes). Of course – now the Army is saying that I have to endure an SSRB – knowing full well that there is NO CHANCE IN HELL that an SSRB will be complete before my promotion eligibility period ends in June. I guess this is how the Army treats career officers with over 14 years of service and an impeccable service record. Is it really a wonder why Service men and women commit suicide at such an alarming rate? I mean – they have already ruined my life and my career, but that just isn’t enough for these ass hats. They have to add insult to injury and essentially board me a second time knowing that there there isn’t enough time to complete the process. I still don’t understand how this isn’t double jeopardy…..

I loved serving in the military until I was put through this hellish experience. When it comes to the Army – you really are just a number.

This message is to inform you that the Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) updated how the Army conducts post-board promotion reviews. Please review the information below for how this will affect the post board review of your promotion.

You were withheld from your promotion selection list based on information discovered during a post-board review. Prior to the FY21 NDAA, a Promotion Review Board (PRB) was convened under Army Regulation 600-8-29 to recommend officers remain on or be removed from the promotion selection list. You were previously notified of your PRB and provided an opportunity to submit rebuttal matters.

Section 505 of the FY21 NDAA altered the post-board promotion review process and requires a Special Selection Review Board (SSRB) be conducted on your file instead of a PRB. An SSRB is a competitive board process and your file will be considered along with a sample of files from officers in your original selection board population. An equal number of comparison files will be of those officers selected for promotion and of those non-select for promotion.

While you have already been provided the due process required for an SSRB, as a courtesy, this notification informs you of the change in process, and allows you to submit anything additional you feel would be in your best interest.

NO ADDITIONAL ACTION IS REQUIRED BY YOU. However, if you desire to submit anything more, you will have 7 calendar days to respond from the date of this notice (no later than 19 March 2021). You should respond directly to the TAG Special Actions Branch at REDACTED with anything you would like the board to consider. If no response is received, the original information you have provided will be used for the new SSRB. You will be notified of the board results by HRC once the Secretary of the Army approves.

Very Respectfully,

REDACTED
