The fact that Trump’s election fraud allegations are concentrated in constituencies in which many or even a majority of African Americans live causes displeasure in the community. As reported by the Washington Post, some black people accuse the president of hypocrisy and racism. “The president always talked about the fact that black votes are important when he tried to win votes in the African American community,” the newspaper quoted Cavalier Johnson, president of the city council of Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin. “Then he loses the election and immediately turns around and targets the very communities from which these black voices come.” Trump speaks of election
fraud not only in Milwaukee, but also in other major cities such as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Detroit (Michigan) and Atlanta (Georgia). In principle, significantly more black people live in cities than in rural areas. Professor of African American Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Carol Anderson, is reminded of the post-Civil War era (1861–1865) when blacks were systematically banned from voting. “There is a fine line between speaking of ‘illegal votes’ and ‘illegal voters.’“ So these attacks on black voters are real, ”said Anderson around constituencies with a high democratic turnout, skin color has nothing to do with it.
