The British government is tightening its travel regulations again. From Monday, people entering England will have to present two other tests during a ten-day quarantine in addition to a negative corona test upon arrival. This is announced by the British Minister of Health Matt Hancock. PCR tests are scheduled on day two and day eight of the quarantine. Travelers have to pay for the costs themselves. Strict rules for entry from 33 mainly South American and African countries already apply. Only UK nationals and residents of the UK are still allowed to enter from these countries. From next week on, they will have to spend their quarantine period in a hotel – at their own expense. Hancock also explained that anyone who disregards the regulations must expect severe consequences in the future. Fines of up to 2000 pounds (around 2280 euros) threaten if tests are not used. Up to £ 10,000 is payable if the hotel quarantine is not adhered to. Those who do not stay in risk areas when entering the country can even expect up to ten years in prison, according to the minister.
