The Unit­ed Arab Emi­rates reports 1007 new infec­tions in the past 24 hours. This is the high­est dai­ly increase in the Gulf state since the begin­ning of the coro­na pan­dem­ic, accord­ing to the Min­istry of Health. In total, the coun­try record­ed 77,842 cas­es. The num­ber of deaths ris­es by 1 to 399. Accord­ing to the state dis­as­ter author­i­ty, twelve per­cent of the new infec­tions in the past two weeks were brought in from abroad, although they had pre­sent­ed neg­a­tive test results on their departure.
