Two Colorado judges on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court nominees

Since 2016, President Donald Trump continually has added names to his list of potential nominees to the nation’s highest court — two of them judges in Colorado.

According to NPR, more than 40 names currently make up the list.

Two who have Colorado ties — Judges Allison Eid and Timothy Tymkovich — sit on the bench in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Tymkovich serves as chief judge.

Eid’s name surfaced as a potential pick for the Supreme Court in 2016 on the president’s first short list of possible candidates. The following year, she was nominated and confirmed as judge Neil Gorsuch’s replacement after he joined the U.S. Supreme Court.

Tymkovich was added to the list of candidates in late 2016.

As recently as Sept. 9, Trump added more names to his list of potential nominees, including Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Josh Hawley of Missouri.
