Trying to find out when someone was discharged in WW2 (person died in 2010).

I’ve been researching family history as my mother was adopted but she now knows the names of both her biological parents (my brother did a DNA test and connected with some cousins, etc). I looked up the dad and he appears to have enlisted in 1943 (I have looked on the gov.usa site and saw his enlistment papers but cannot find any discharge dates.

It is a bit tricky in that if he served until the end of the war, he couldn’t be my mother’s biological father. I am doing more research as to where the biological mother was in 1945 (usually East Coast USA but was married and sadly widowed in Sept/Oct 1944 in Wyoming/SD);

Thanks for any advice. If this is the wrong sub, please let me know.
