Three-week corona lockdown for all of Greece

In the fight against the spread of Corona, the Greek government has ordered a three-week lockdown for the entire country from Saturday. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis justified the tough step in a televised address that he could not allow the health system to be overloaded. From Saturday morning at 6 a.m., all shops except supermarkets, pharmacies and other essential businesses must close. There is also a general curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. This does not apply to employed persons who have a corresponding confirmation from their employer. Anyone who wants to go shopping or go to the doctor during the day must inform about this by SMS. With the exception of kindergartens and elementary schools, schools in the state will switch to online operations. Mask requirements apply everywhere.
