No idea about the right to vote? — Trump is mad at his lawyers

Donald Trump wants to challenge his loss to Joe Biden in the presidential election in court. But his lawyers seem overwhelmed with the task. According to a report, he is already looking for “better ones”. The election campaign team of US President Donald Trump has already filed almost a dozen lawsuits in several states against what they believe to be incorrect counting of votes. More are to follow on Monday to snatch victory in the election from Joe Biden and the Democrats. But it looks like Trump isn’t particularly happy with his legal counsel’s efforts to date. CNN reports that the incumbent president doesn’t believe his lawyers are up to the task. He told his staff to look for better ones.

Scuffles in Pennsylvania: Angry Trump supporters want to “keep fighting”

In public, the former New York mayor and Trump confidante Rudy Giuliani is leading the legal campaign against the allegedly “stolen” election. On Saturday, however, he embarrassed himself with an appearance in front of a garage door because he had obviously mistaken the well-known Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Philadelphia for a local landscaping company of the same name on the outskirts. The bizarre press conference was only marginally reported, the full attention was in Wilmington, Joe Biden’s small hometown in the state of Delaware: The major US media had declared the Democrats the winner of the presidential election at the same time as the Giuliani appearance. According to CNN, Giuliani doesn’t have much to do with the actual legal work. According to the report, this is taken care of by those lawyers who, for example, had defended Trump in the impeachment proceedings because of his ties to Russia. They have also been helping him for four years to protect his tax return from public view.

But they don’t seem particularly familiar with the right to vote; at least Trump’s legal team is apparently not well enough staffed: “A recount requires an incredible amount of staff,” said the expert Benjamin Ginsberg the broadcaster. “Not to mention multiple recounts.” The Republican is a respected suffrage activist who, among other things, advised the two Bush campaigns on electoral issues — including the dispute over the Florida recount in 2000 between Democratic candidate Al Gore and later President George W. Bush. “Bush versus Gore was a state,” said Ginsberg. Hundreds of lawyers and political advisors supported the election campaign team in the process, but the party had reached its limits. “In the best case, it is unclear whether the Trump team would have the necessary infrastructure for several such proceedings,” said the lawyer.

According to CNN, there are doubts about the staffing in the White House. And wonder why no reinforcements were called in, although Trump had threatened for weeks to challenge the result in court if necessary.

Call for help from Georgia

The accusations are therefore distributed in several directions. Trump himself is said to blame his staff for the lack of staff, others blame his son-in-law and close advisor Jared Kushner for not having recognized the problem. In order to get the much-needed support, the Republican governor of the state of Georgia, Brian Kemp, is said to have sent out a cry for help to renowned conservative lawyers. So far unsuccessful, as they say. But that could change if Trump were to overtake Biden in Arizona or Georgia, they say. Then the venture would no longer be quite so hopeless, and his lawyers could concentrate on the lawsuit in the important state of Pennsylvania, which had already started before the vote in the Supreme Court. However, the Democrats do not believe that this lawsuit will affect the election result.
