The Lakewood Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Lakewood Walmart, the department announced Sunday evening.
Police tweeted at 8:37 p.m. that they are working around the Walmart at 7455 W. Colfax Avenue, at the intersection of W. Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.
Police said two people were shot and transported to a hospital. The suspect shooter left the scene, police said.
There is a large police presence in the area. Police have asked the public to avoid the area.
The initial 911 calls came in at 8:22 p.m.
