In Esto­nia, the num­ber of new coro­na infec­tions has reached a new high of 241 cas­es with­in 24 hours. Most of these were record­ed in the cap­i­tal Tallinn and the sur­round­ing region. This was announced by the health author­i­ty in Tallinn. The pre­vi­ous record was 208 cas­es. Author­i­ty head Üllar Lan­no said a radio report in Tallinn said the lev­el of infec­tion had increased across the coun­try. Esto­nia, with a pop­u­la­tion of 1.3 mil­lion, has so far record­ed 5,705 con­firmed coro­na infec­tions and 73 deaths relat­ed to the virus. Accord­ing to the EU author­i­ty ECDC, the Baltic state is one of the cur­rent­ly less affect­ed coun­tries in Europe, despite the increas­ing num­ber of cases.
