Justin Her­bert set the record for most TD pass­es thrown by a rook­ie quar­ter­back to give the Los Ange­les Charg­ers a 10–0 lead over the Den­ver Broncos.

Her­bert threw a 9‑yard screen pass to Austin Ekel­er with 8:23 remain­ing in the sec­ond quar­ter. It is his 28th of the sea­son, sur­pass­ing the 27 that Bak­er May­field had for the Cleve­land Browns in 2018.
