Britain plans to approve Covid-19 Biontech vaccine next week — - today

Accord­ing to a news­pa­per report, the UK will approve the coro­na vac­cine devel­oped by Bion­tech and Pfiz­er in the com­ing week. The deliv­ery should begin hours lat­er, reports the Finan­cial Times. Accord­ing to the report, the first vac­ci­na­tions could take place as ear­ly as Decem­ber 7th. The Euro­pean Med­i­cines Agency would be respon­si­ble for approval until Brex­it is imple­ment­ed, but the British author­i­ties are empow­ered to grant pro­vi­sion­al approval in urgent cas­es, it said. The gov­ern­ment in Lon­don had pre­vi­ous­ly appoint­ed its own vac­cines minister.
