Austria rejects après-ski parties — only limited winter holidays due to the coronavirus

There will be no après-ski par­ties in their pre­vi­ous form in Aus­tria this sea­son. The gov­ern­ment announced accord­ing to the “Kro­nen­zeitung” at a press con­fer­ence. “Ski­ing fun, yes, but not like before,” said Fed­er­al Chan­cel­lor Sebas­t­ian Kurz. Accord­ing to this, only a max­i­mum of ten peo­ple should be allowed to move togeth­er as a group in the restau­rants in the win­ter tourism loca­tions. Food and drinks may only be con­sumed out­doors and indoors while sit­ting. As in oth­er restau­rants, a mask is required on the way to the square. Even in ski schools, only a max­i­mum of ten peo­ple are allowed to come togeth­er. In addi­tion, there should be more tests for employ­ees in the cater­ing indus­try and now also for ski instructors.
