Study on the Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccine appears to be successful

Terre-Haute

Tests of a corona vaccination developed by the University of Oxford in collaboration with the British pharmaceutical company Astrazeneca have been promising, according to a report in the Financial Times. In older people, the group with the highest risk of severe disease, a “robust immune response” developed, the paper reports. Astrazeneca had announced that it would sell its potential vaccine against Corona at “cost price” – but apparently for a limited time. At “cost price” it should actually mean that the company is not interested in profits. As the “Financial Times” (FT) now reports with reference to an internal document, this offer expires – at least in the specific case of Brazil – in July 2021. A small but important addition to the vow made by CEO Pascal Soriot in the summer actually had indicated: the price applies “as long as the pandemic lasts”.
