Over 4 million infections in Brazil – in the middle of the Corona crisis, samba happenings are again allowed to take place in Brazil’s metropolis Rio de Janeiro. According to the news portal “G1”, the city government has allowed “previously approved cultural events and activities” such as shows and “Rodas de Samba”, where musicians come together and play, again. Part of the stipulation is that the hygiene concepts are adhered to at the events. At the famous “Pedra do Sal” in the port area of Rio, where samba parties are celebrated today, the rules according to “G1” were not followed on Monday. The Brazilian Ministry of Health now has more than five million confirmed coronavirus infections in the country.
