Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook, announced in a post on his platform that the social media giant is banning President Trump for an indefinite period. “We believe that if the president can continue to use our ministry during this time, the risk is simply too great,” Zuckerberg wrote. “We are therefore extending the ban we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks, until the peaceful transfer of power is complete.”

Wave of resignation from Trump loyalists
Former President Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff and current Special Envoy for Northern Ireland, Mick Mulvaney, has resigned. “I can’t do it anymore. I can’t stay,” Mulvaney told CNBC in an interview. “Those who have chosen to stay, and I have spoken to some of them, chose to stay because they feared the president might replace them with someone worse.” Ryan Tully, Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs in the National Security Council and John Costello, Deputy Secretary of the Commerce Department for Intelligence and Security, also resigned. Yesterday, two more Trump loyalists, Stephanie Grisham, current Chief of Staff to First Lady Melania Trump, and Matt Pottinger, Trump’s deputy national security advisor, left their offices.
