The US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson has temporarily suspended its tests of a potential coronavirus vaccine after a subject became ill. The company announced on Monday that the participant fell ill for “unexplained” reasons. During the test break, a committee of independent experts is to investigate the causes of the disease. The main question is whether the disease was triggered by the potential serum. J&J started the third test phase at the end of September. The active ingredient is to be tested on 60,000 people at 200 locations in the USA, Latin America and South Africa.
