He is “very happy” about it – and calls for people to follow his example. “Gandalf” actor Ian McKellen had himself vaccinated against the coronavirus and has been feeling “euphoric” ever since. “It’s painless and it’s practical,” said the 81-year-old British actor (“Lord of the Rings”), as the PA news agency reported. “I am very happy that I received the vaccination.” McKellen called for people to follow suit. “It has to be – not just for yourself, but for the people who are important to you. You do it for society,” he said.
“It’s a special day, I feel euphoric.”

Great Britain started mass vaccination just over a week ago. The funds from the Mainz-based pharmaceutical company Biontech and its US partner Pfizer are used for this purpose.
