The NFL has kicked off its own streaming business.

NFL+ officially launched Monday, the league’s own streaming service that will include live out-of-market preseason games, local and primetime regular season and postseason games, NFL Network shows and NFL Film archives on mobile phones and tablets.

“The passionate and dedicated football fans are the lifeblood of the NFL, and being able to reach and interact with them across multiple platforms is incredibly important to us,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.

“We look forward to continuing to grow NFL+ and deepening our relationship with fans across all ages and demographics, providing them access to a tremendous amount of NFL content, including the most valuable content in the media industry: live NFL games.”

The standard version of NFL+ costs $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year and offers live local and primetime games, live out-of-market preseason games, live game audio (home, away and national calls) and ad-free access to NFL library programming on-demand.

The premium version costs $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year and also includes full and condensed replays and coaches’ film.

Many of those streaming options were already available to fans under the league’s Game Pass or through a Verizon subscription.

NFL+ joins MLB and the NBA as a sports league with its own streaming service, although MLB has faced criticism lately for exclusive deals with multiple other streaming services, including Apple TV+ and Peacock, that reduce the number of games available on MLB.TV.
