Loud Trump wants to “destroy” Fox News

Donald Trump has told friends that he wants to set up a media company to “kill” Fox News, reports the news site Axios. From Trump’s environment it is said that the station made a mistake when he proclaimed Joe Biden to be the winner of the presidential election. Fox News has long been a trusted partner for Trump – that’s over.

“He wants to destroy Fox News. There is no doubt about that,” Axios quotes a source. Even before the 2016 presidential election, there was speculation that Trump could found a broadcaster after an election defeat. According to Axios, however, such a project would be expensive and time-consuming. Instead, Trump is thinking about a digital media company that would only run on the internet. That would be cheaper and could be launched faster.

Trump’s lawyers “don’t understand how elections work”
The City of Detroit has responded in writing to a lawsuit filed by Trump lawyers against the Wayne County’s vote count. The Reuters reporter Brad Heath summarized the paper, which was filed in a court in Wayne County, as follows: The city says that anything that is called suspicious by the lawyers is part of the normal course of an election.

Literally, the paper states: “Most of the objections in the affidavits presented stem from an extraordinary inability to understand how elections work.” Detroit is the administrative seat of Wayne County in the state of Michigan.

What Trump is doing today (spoiler: not much)
Trump has only two official dates on his calendar today, and both are of the lighter variety. At 12.30 pm (local time) he will have lunch with Vice President Mike Pence in the “Private Dining Room” in the White House, and in the afternoon he will receive his Foreign Secretary and Treasury Secretary in the Oval Office. That’s it.

It is not just today that Trump seems to take his work rather easy. Yesterday, Veterans Day, he laid a wreath at the Arlington War Cemetery and had no other official appointments (the wreath-laying was his first public appearance in six days, excluding rounds of golf). According to CNN, he has not had a secret service briefing since October 2 – on that day he fell ill with Covid-19, after which he was fully occupied with the election campaign. Since then, according to CNN, Trump has “made little effort to show US citizens that he is still in power”.
