US actress Rhonda Fleming, a film great of the golden era of Hollywood, is dead according to a media report. She died on Wednesday at the age of 97 in a hospital in Santa Monica near Los Angeles, reported the New York Times, citing Flemings longtime assistant. Fleming was born in Hollywood in 1923 under the real name Marilyn Louis and was discovered while still at school. After several smaller film roles, she made her breakthrough in Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller “I fight for you” with Ingrid Bergman in 1945. Fleming made numerous Hollywood westerns and adventure films in the 1940s and 50s and worked with actors such as Glenn Ford, Ronald Reagan and Kirk Douglas. In the early 1960s, Fleming, who was married a total of six times, turned increasingly to the television career. It shot until the 1990s.
