Game 3 of Nuggets-Trail Blazers facing local blackout on NBA TV

Game 3 of Denver’s upcoming first-round series against Portland is facing a local blackout on NBA TV, league sources confirmed to The Denver Post.

Altitude Sports announced on Friday that it would air all of the Nuggets-Blazers games, yet the regional sports network remains embroiled in a carriage dispute with Comcast and Dish. As of now, DirecTV remains the largest carrier with Altitude Sports.

Game 3, described in the release as an “in-market exclusive” broadcast to Altitude, won’t be available locally due to NBA rights restrictions except on Altitude.

Altitude received the NBA’s schedule on Thursday and had no say which national broadcasts would carry the game side-by-side, a source said.

“This marks the second full season that Comcast and Dish have continued to ignore Nuggets fans by denying them access to a season full of thrilling games,” said Matt Hutchings, COO of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment.

“… We are singularly focused on getting the Nuggets back on the air again next season through fair, market-based terms. Unlike Comcast and Dish, Altitude Sports will continue to put Nuggets fans first.”
