In France, more than 40,000 people have now died of a corona infection. With 306 new deaths within 24 hours, the country’s victim balance rose to 40,169 corona deaths on Saturday, as the health authorities announced. The number of new infections from Saturday was not reported, the day before it had reached a new high with more than 60,000 infections within 24 hours. In view of the massive increase in corona infections, fear of overburdening hospitals is growing in France. There are currently 4410 patients in France’s intensive care units, at the beginning of the week there were 3721 patients.
