Corona outbreak in the factory for disposable protective gloves

Franziskus Pope

More than 13,000 employees of one of the largest companies for disposable gloves in the world have to be in quarantine for two weeks after a massive corona outbreak. 200 cases had previously been confirmed in the company “Top Glove” in Malaysia. Defense Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the company will be asked to test all workers in all factories. The workers were believed to have been infected in a communal shelter. Just last week the company announced that the spread of the virus among the workforce was “largely under control” and that work would remain unaffected. Malaysian factories produce around 65 percent of the world’s rubber and disposable gloves for medical use.
