After a few new infections, one million people in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin have been tested for the corona virus. The mass tests were carried out in the port area of Binhai after five new locally transmitted infections and another three asymptomatic cases were found in a residential area, according to state media. Two other local infections were reported from Shanghai and Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia. Bus and train connections to the city on the border with Russia were interrupted, as the website Toutiao reported. Since the summer, China has largely brought the virus under control with strict measures, mass tests, quarantine, contact tracing and strict entry restrictions.
