The criterion for this is the location in the clinics. “No country in the world will allow intensive care medicine to be overwhelmed,” said Kurz. In Austria, the impending collapse of the health system is a legal requirement for a lockdown. Health Minister Rudolf Anschober had recently shown himself to be very confident that the measures introduced so far would be sufficient to bring the development under control. Since Sunday, this has included an upper limit of six people for private celebrations indoors and twelve people outdoors. Most recently, record levels of new infections had been recorded practically every day in Austria. The development is currently significantly worse than in Germany.
