On Lake Travis, north­west of the Texas city of Austin, the re-elec­tion of US Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump is to be sup­port­ed with a boat parade. But it does­n’t go as planned, Dur­ing the parade, sev­er­al boats were full of water and a few even sank, said the Travis Dis­trict Sheriff’s office on Twit­ter. Injured or oth­er med­ical emer­gen­cies were not reported.
It is said that there is no evi­dence of sab­o­tage as the cause of the acci­dents. In pho­tos on Twit­ter, boats with pro-Trump flags can be seen in trou­bled waters. The high waves may have been caused by the large num­ber of boats and ships on the lake. A spokes­woman for the author­i­ties con­firmed that there were an extra­or­di­nary num­ber of boats on the lake. “Some were full of water, some were blocked, some cap­sized — all sorts of things hap­pened.” How many boats sank still has to be checked.
