Following the outbreak of the virus in a clothing factory in the Xinjiang region of China, workers who tested positive were showing symptoms. According to official information, China has reported 47 new confirmed corona cases versus 42 the day before, a record number of new infections every day for more than two months. Of the new cases, 23 were previously asymptomatic cases from Xinjiang, the national health authority said. China does not consider symptom-free infections as confirmed Covid-19 cases. The total number of confirmed infections in mainland China now stands at 85,915, while the death toll remains unchanged at 4,634.
