The British government is supporting the sports that have been hard hit by the Corona crisis with an aid package worth 300 million pounds (336 million euros). Above all, rugby, equestrian sport and, on a small scale, football should be helped with the rescue package, as announced by the Ministry of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. “We made a promise to stand by sport when we had to postpone the return of fans. We are doing just that by adding an additional £ 300 million to our existing business support programs,” said Sports Secretary Oliver Dowden. “This funding will help them survive this difficult winter season.” Most of the financial support will be in the form of loans.
